2025 HIMSS Changemaker in Health Awards

Some exciting changes are happening to the 2025 HIMSS Changemaker in Health Awards Program:

  • Nominators, nominees, and voters must be HIMSS members - making this a true HIMSS award. We have SO many awesome members who are making a difference every day! Not a member? Join HIMSS today!
  • The entire process will be moved to an earlier timeframe allowing us to recognize our award recipients before (and during!) the HIMSS Global Conference.
    • Call for Nominations will open May 20 - July 1, 2024
    • The Voting Platform (featuring the nominees who will move to finalists) will open August 19 - September 16.
    • Award Recipients will be announced in late October.

Nominee Requirements

Nominee must meet these requirements:

  • Currently in good standing of HIMSS membership (must be a HIMSS member – any membership type is acceptable)
  • Not currently serve on the HIMSS Board of Directors or any HIMSS advisory boards
  • Not currently employed by HIMSS nor engaged in a consulting contract with any component of HIMSS

A HIMSS Changemaker demonstrates these characteristics:

  • Positively exemplifies the HIMSS mission and vision
  • Drives transformational change, leading to improved health outcomes through the advancement of information and technology (i.e., to improve patient safety, coordinated care, population health, wellness, access and cost-effectiveness)
  • Takes bold action(s) leveraging information and technology to propel innovation and reimagine health
  • Represents the highest standards of leadership in health information and technology
  • Advocates for ongoing end-user and patient advocacy and education in the ever-changing world of health technology
  • Respected and recognized as role models by their peers
