Providing Quality Telehealth Care Webinar

Telehealth is revolutionizing care delivery in the same way ridesharing has transformed the transportation industry. Patients appreciate the ease of access to clinicians for medical advice, diagnosis and treatment.

But are these telehealth visits suboptimal clinically? Can you treat the whole patient as effectively virtually as in person? With careful adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines tailored for telemedicine visits, excellent clinical care can in fact be delivered. The clinician can elicit a full history, perform many physical exam components such as assessing the patient’s disposition and review high-resolution images of skin lesions, and provide appropriate treatment with guidance.

This presentation will expand the clinical perspective on what conditions can be handled through telehealth and how patients can benefit from virtual care.

Learning Objectives

  • Establish clear guidelines about what patients you can treat and which ones should be redirected to a medical facility
  • Discuss telemedicine-specific guidelines based on current evidence-based care
  • Review the many components of the physical exam and manage patient expectations for their telehealth visit
