Susan Murphy, RN, BSN, MS is the recipient of the 2018 Kate Granger Compassionate Care Award that was presented at the HIMSS18 Nursing Symposium in Las Vegas

CHICAGO (January 19, 2018) – Recognizing the link between improved patient outcomes with employee satisfaction rates, Susan Murphy leads various initiatives within her organization that strive to maintain personalized care with compassion and consistency. Throughout her 30-year nursing career, she has displayed an impressive track record of unifying high-touch experience strategies with high-tech quality, safety and performance initiatives.

She currently serves as the Chief Experience Officer at the University of Chicago Medicine, where she designs and drives innovations that combine efficiency plus empathy, while always keeping patients front-of-mind. Murphy’s maintained focus on the patient has shaped strategies to accelerate vital satisfaction metric improvements within her organization.

An accomplished nurse, leader and innovator, Susan Murphy, RN, BSN, MS, is the recipient of the The Kate Granger Compassionate Care Award, presented by HIMSS North America. Established in 2014, the award celebrates the life of Dr. Kate Granger, an English doctor dedicated to raising awareness around compassion in healthcare.

Murphy will receive her award at the HIMSS18 Nursing Informatics Symposium and will be honored at the HIMSS18 Awards Gala on Thursday, March 8, from 6:30-9 p.m. The event takes place at the Wynn Hotel inside the Latour Ballroom, during the 2018 HIMSS Conference & Exhibition on March 5-9 in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Venetian-Palazzo Sands Center.
