Businessman speaking into a microphone at conference

HIMSS is excited to announce a new Public Policy slate for 2023 compromised of 21 innovative thought leaders across the healthcare sector. The 2023 Public Policy Committee includes 10 new members, including three international representatives who will expand the committee’s scope and reflect HIMSS’s global policy engagement. Membership positions are by application only, and on a two-year rotation.

“We are very excited to welcome our new members of the Public Policy Committee who will bring their policy and topical subject matter expertise to the HIMSS advocacy initiatives.” said Tom Leary, senior vice president and head of government relations. “We’re looking forward to working together with our committee members to impact the borderless issues facing communities across the globe, so we can all help HIMSS meet the goals set out in the HIMSS vision and mission.”

The PPC recommends policy on pending legislation and regulations with the aim of reforming the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology. They work with legislators, key national decision-makers, state and provincial leaders and stakeholder organizations.

Members are experts in public policy and advocacy working to impact change across various levels of government. Committee members and the HIMSS government relations team leverage partnerships, and develop and deploy tools and resources.
